It is very important to go to a laser center that has had training specifically in laser hair removal treatments from a certified laser training center or college. Most centers in town use part time employees or nurses that have very little training. Some lasers can really be painful so ask what diameter beam their laser uses as the smaller 8-12mm sizes tend to be very painful and create a high risk for burns. The smaller beams also do not penetrate deep enough for thick coarse hair. We have 3 different lasers, a Sciton Profile, a Candela GentleLase and a Candela GentleYag. These machines can use adjustable size beams from 1.5mm- 18 mm so we can pick the exact size for your hair, skin or treatment type. Candela lasers are also one of the only lasers made with cooling spray for the skin making your treatments more comfortable and almost completely eliminating side effects. We also have available topical anesthetics so we can numb your skin ahead of time if you are a more sensitive type. If you are you one of those people that have been turned down to have laser treatments because you have a dark skin type from your ethnic background, or maybe you have that summer tan we can still treat you. We have a YAG laser that is top of the line in the industry for treating dark skin. Be very careful with seeking a laser professional for dark skin treatments. If they do not have a second laser specifically for dark skin you may want to reconsider.
