Showtime Riding Academy offers lessons for all ages who are interested in showing or just having fun! It is a great form of exercise and exposes you to the fabulous animal Kentucky is known for, horses! Let our skilled instructor educate you and/or your child about the wonderful world of equestrian sports while focusing on safety and enhancing your learning experience. Showtime Saddlebreds is one of only two stables in the Louisville area that offers lessons on a double saddle. This saddle allows the instructor to ride with the child so that they can accomplish more each lesson. It is safer and easier for the child to learn, it also allows the child to start at a younger age. We have several activities that you and your child can participate in year round.

All of the students at Showtime Riding Academy begin with private lessons or an evaluation lesson if entering with previous riding experience. For a beginner rider, depending on their age and ability, it will take approximately 8 to10 privates lessons before you will be ready to enter into a group lesson. Every rider learns and progresses at their own speed, we teach according to the riders’ progress and is up to the instructors’ judgment when they are ready to move into a group.

Private lessons are a vital place to begin, learning the basic skills in a safe controlled environment, with the one-on-one attention from our instructor. Once this has been skilled by the rider, you will then move into a semi-private group with one to two other riders.

Group lessons are great to work along with others who are learning the same skills as you. At this level you will learn to ride with others and become more aware of the obstacles that you encounter in a show ring. Riding in a group will take you to the next level preparing you to enter the show ring and observe and learn from others.

Please come ten minutes prior to your lesson to ensure that you are ready to ride at your scheduled time. Riders arriving late for a lesson will receive a shortened lesson but will still be responsible for the full cost of the lesson. Riders are welcomed to stay after their lesson to help untack and brush their horse.

Cost

All of our lessons are given Monday thru Friday early afternoon, after school and into the evenings. We do offered a discounted rate when purchased in packages.

Private and Group lessons: $35- for private and $25- for group

If you are a new lesson, a credit card deposit or a check is required to hold the lesson spot. Your credit card will not be run or check deposited until the day of your scheduled lesson.

Cancellation Policy: We ask that you please cancel your lesson at least 24 hours in advance to allow ample time to fill your spot if needed. Lessons not cancelled 24 hours in advanced will be charged a $25 cancellation fee, or the loss of a lesson from your package. If a rider misses more than 2 regularly scheduled lessons in a row, we will assume that the rider has vacated that time slot.
